THE BENEFITS OF PVC FOR YOUR NEW DECK

Admin • December 15, 2022

If you’ve been considering building a deck for your home or business, you may be wondering which material would work best. PVC is one of the most popular materials used to build decks and it offers a variety of advantages over traditional wood or composite options. Let’s take a look at why PVC might be the right choice for your next deck project.

Durability and Low Maintenance

PVC decks are incredibly durable, which means they can stand up to heavy foot traffic without showing signs of wear and tear. PVC decks are also resistant to mold, mildew, rot, and insect damage, making them far more resistant than wood decks. And while some other decking materials require regular staining or sealing in order to maintain their appearance, PVC needs very little upkeep in order to stay looking new. This makes it ideal for busy homeowners who don’t have time for extensive maintenance tasks.

Affordable and Versatile

When compared with other decking materials like wood or composite, PVC is generally more affordable and yet still looks great. It comes in a variety of colors and textures so you can customize the look of your deck to match your home’s aesthetic. Additionally, PVC is lightweight and easy to work with, so it can be used in complex designs that otherwise wouldn’t be possible with other materials.

Environmentally Friendly

PVC is also an environmentally friendly option when compared to traditional lumber because it uses recycled materials such as plastic bottles and packaging waste instead of cutting down trees from old-growth forests. Additionally, because it requires less maintenance than other materials like wood or composite, there are fewer chemicals being used on the surface of the material which leads to less pollution going into our waterways.

No matter what type of deck you choose for your home or business, PVC is an excellent option that offers durability, versatility, affordability and environmental friendliness all in one package! With its low maintenance requirements and wide range of style options available, it’s no wonder that many homeowners are turning towards this material when building their dream decks. So if you’re thinking about starting a new deck project soon, consider using PVC—you won’t regret it!

5 Benefits of Adding a Screen Enclosure to Your Outdoor Space | S&S Design Build

September 24, 2026
If you love spending time outdoors but want a little more comfort, privacy, and protection, a screen enclosure could be the perfect addition to your home. Screen enclosures allow you to enjoy your patio or outdoor living area while creating a more comfortable and functional space for relaxing and entertaining. At S&S Design Build , we specialize in designing and building custom outdoor living spaces throughout Middle Tennessee. Here are five benefits of adding a screen enclosure to your home. 1. Create an Enhanced Outdoor Living Space A screen enclosure can transform an ordinary patio into an inviting outdoor living area. Whether you want a place to enjoy your morning coffee, entertain friends and family, or simply relax after a long day, a screened-in space gives you another area to enjoy at home. Screen enclosures can also be combined with a patio cover, outdoor kitchen, fireplace, comfortable furniture, or other outdoor features to create a space designed around the way you live. 2. Enjoy More Privacy Adding screens can provide additional privacy while you're enjoying your backyard. Instead of feeling completely exposed to neighboring properties, a screened-in porch or patio creates a more enclosed and comfortable environment. With the right design, your outdoor space can feel like a private extension of your home. 3. Add Functionality to Your Home One of the biggest benefits of a screen enclosure is simply being able to use your outdoor space more often. A covered and screened-in patio can provide a comfortable place to sit, dine, entertain, or enjoy the outdoors while keeping the space separated from many of the common nuisances associated with an open patio. For homeowners who already have an existing patio or deck, a screen enclosure can be a great way to get more use out of the space they already have. 4. Create a More Comfortable Outdoor Environment A screen enclosure provides a transition between your indoor and outdoor living areas. When paired with a quality patio cover, it can create a shaded and comfortable place to spend time outside. For homeowners looking for even more flexibility, EZ Breeze windows can turn a screened area into a versatile three-season room. The windows allow you to enjoy fresh air when the weather is nice while giving you the option to close the space when conditions change. 5. Low-Maintenance Outdoor Enjoyment Homeowners want outdoor spaces that are beautiful without requiring constant maintenance. A properly designed screen enclosure can provide a clean, finished appearance while allowing you to enjoy your patio without the upkeep associated with some other outdoor improvements. From simple screened patios to fully customized outdoor living spaces, the design can be tailored to your home and how you want to use it. Build an Outdoor Space You'll Love A screen enclosure can do much more than simply add screens around your patio. It can create a comfortable, functional outdoor living area that gives you another place to enjoy your home. At S&S Design Build , we specialize in creating custom outdoor spaces, including: Screen enclosures Patio covers S unroom Motorized shades Custom decks Paver patios Outdoor fireplaces Concrete patios And more If you're considering a screen enclosure or outdoor living project in Nashville and Middle Tennessee , we'd love to help bring your ideas to life.
