The Timeless Appeal of Decks: A Perfect Addition to Every Property

Sergio Mota • August 25, 2023

Decks are an incredible addition to any property. They have a captivating appeal and deliver an inviting outdoor space where people love to relax and unwind. Choosing the right deck material can be a daunting task. That's why we are here to help you understand the sophisticated attributes of real-wood aesthetics and how it stays cooler on hot days. In this blog post, we'll walk you through the benefits of having a deck, and why it's perfect for everyday use, pool surrounds, waterfront retreats, or rooftop escapes.

When it comes to adding appeal to outdoor spaces, decks are a timeless choice. But not all decks are created equal. Have you ever walked on a hot surface barefoot? It’s uncomfortable, right? However, with decks made of PVC, it won't be the case. They prove to be cooler than traditional concrete patios, retaining less heat, and providing a comfortable space for people to walk around in warm weather.

Having a deck on your property can significantly enhance the curb appeal of your home. Adding a multi-width decking design can introduce modern and sleek aesthetics to the overall look of your space. Choose from narrow (3.5”), standard (5.5”), or wide boards (7.25”) for a customized deck that can be personalized according to your preferences.

Decks also create a beautiful space where people can relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. The perfect place for hosting BBQs, garden parties, or just reading a book while enjoying the sun. They are ideal for everyday decks, pool surround, waterfront retreats, and rooftop escapes. They also add value to your property, which can come in handy if you decide to sell your house or property in the future.

If you are environmentally conscious, then you will love PVC decks. The impact they have on the environment is minimal compared to composite materials. They are also renewable, recyclable, and biodegradable. You can enjoy your new space while minimizing your carbon footprint.

Decks made of PVC are an incredible addition to any property. They provide an inviting outdoor space that people will enjoy and remember for years to come. They are also environmentally friendly and have a tremendous impact on the overall look and value of your property. When choosing the right decking material, consider the sophisticated aesthetics of real wood, how it stays cooler on hot days, and multi-width decking options. A deck provides the perfect space for everyday use, pool surrounds, waterfront retreats, and rooftop escapes. Don't hesitate to add a timeless PVC deck to your property today!

5 Benefits of Adding a Screen Enclosure to Your Outdoor Space | S&S Design Build

September 24, 2026
If you love spending time outdoors but want a little more comfort, privacy, and protection, a screen enclosure could be the perfect addition to your home. Screen enclosures allow you to enjoy your patio or outdoor living area while creating a more comfortable and functional space for relaxing and entertaining. At S&S Design Build , we specialize in designing and building custom outdoor living spaces throughout Middle Tennessee. Here are five benefits of adding a screen enclosure to your home. 1. Create an Enhanced Outdoor Living Space A screen enclosure can transform an ordinary patio into an inviting outdoor living area. Whether you want a place to enjoy your morning coffee, entertain friends and family, or simply relax after a long day, a screened-in space gives you another area to enjoy at home. Screen enclosures can also be combined with a patio cover, outdoor kitchen, fireplace, comfortable furniture, or other outdoor features to create a space designed around the way you live. 2. Enjoy More Privacy Adding screens can provide additional privacy while you're enjoying your backyard. Instead of feeling completely exposed to neighboring properties, a screened-in porch or patio creates a more enclosed and comfortable environment. With the right design, your outdoor space can feel like a private extension of your home. 3. Add Functionality to Your Home One of the biggest benefits of a screen enclosure is simply being able to use your outdoor space more often. A covered and screened-in patio can provide a comfortable place to sit, dine, entertain, or enjoy the outdoors while keeping the space separated from many of the common nuisances associated with an open patio. For homeowners who already have an existing patio or deck, a screen enclosure can be a great way to get more use out of the space they already have. 4. Create a More Comfortable Outdoor Environment A screen enclosure provides a transition between your indoor and outdoor living areas. When paired with a quality patio cover, it can create a shaded and comfortable place to spend time outside. For homeowners looking for even more flexibility, EZ Breeze windows can turn a screened area into a versatile three-season room. The windows allow you to enjoy fresh air when the weather is nice while giving you the option to close the space when conditions change. 5. Low-Maintenance Outdoor Enjoyment Homeowners want outdoor spaces that are beautiful without requiring constant maintenance. A properly designed screen enclosure can provide a clean, finished appearance while allowing you to enjoy your patio without the upkeep associated with some other outdoor improvements. From simple screened patios to fully customized outdoor living spaces, the design can be tailored to your home and how you want to use it. Build an Outdoor Space You'll Love A screen enclosure can do much more than simply add screens around your patio. It can create a comfortable, functional outdoor living area that gives you another place to enjoy your home. At S&S Design Build , we specialize in creating custom outdoor spaces, including: Screen enclosures Patio covers S unroom Motorized shades Custom decks Paver patios Outdoor fireplaces Concrete patios And more If you're considering a screen enclosure or outdoor living project in Nashville and Middle Tennessee , we'd love to help bring your ideas to life.
